Many generations of the same family have benefited from the Catholic education offered by Holy Family School. The parents and parishioners support the school financially and through their participation in projects and contributions to the parish as well as attendance at school functions. The school was established in the year 1904, when Fr. Gerhard Fick led the area families in building a parochial school. The original structure was a two-story frame building and it served as a combination school and convent. In 1921, the school was turned over to the local public school because of the financial burden of the new church. A fire destroyed the school in March of 1934. A new building was built later that year which is the present day main floor of the school today. The basement was excavated in the year 1949 and the cafeteria was added on in 1975. The parish purchased the school building and grounds in June of 1951 and Holy Family Parish once again had a parochial school. The mission of the school is to help students build a firm foundation in education and to develop leaders through lessons in the Catholic faith, community, perseverance and service. Based upon this mission, there is an educational advantage at Holy Family School to develop a true family community spirit. Our students are learning to value each person, to reach out to those in need around us, and to appreciate the good feeling of sharing their talents with others. Our children are the future and we share the spirit of Catholic education through our integrated and creative classroom environments. We invite you to help us touch the future by being a part of our school family.
